The TCL Tab A1 is an affordable Android tablet designed for entertainment, study, productivity, and everyday tasks. It combines a large 11-inch display, stylus support, stereo speakers, and a long-lasting battery in a slim aluminum body.
TCL announced the tablet in August 2026, and the TCL Tab A1 became available in the same month. Moreover, it runs Android 16 and has a planned upgrade to Android 17, giving users longer software support.
Design and Build
The TCL Tab A1 features a slim and premium design. It measures 251.3 × 163.2 × 6.2 mm and weighs 430 grams. Therefore, the tablet remains lightweight and easy to carry despite its large display.
In addition, it uses a glass front, aluminum frame, and aluminum back. The tablet also supports a stylus, which makes it useful for note-taking, drawing, and productivity tasks. Furthermore, IP54 protection helps protect the device from dust and water splashes.
Display
The tablet features an 11-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. As a result, scrolling and animations appear smoother than on standard 60Hz panels.
Moreover, the display offers a resolution of 2112 × 1320 pixels and reaches up to 650 nits in high brightness mode. Therefore, users can comfortably watch videos, browse websites, read documents, and attend online classes.
Performance and Software
The TCL Tab A1 runs Android 16 and has a planned upgrade to Android 17. It uses the MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, which features a 6nm manufacturing process.
Additionally, the octa-core CPU and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU provide reliable performance for everyday apps, streaming, and light gaming. The tablet comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
Furthermore, users can expand the storage through the dedicated microSDXC card slot. This makes it easier to store photos, videos, documents, and other files.
Camera
The TCL Tab A1 includes an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. It can record videos at 1080p and 30fps.
On the front, the tablet offers a 5MP selfie camera with 1080p video recording. Therefore, users can use it for video calls, online classes, and basic photography.
Sound and Connectivity
The tablet features four speakers that create a stereo audio experience. As a result, movies, music, and games sound more immersive.
However, the TCL Tab A1 does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack. For connectivity, it supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. It also includes a USB Type-C 2.0 port for charging and data transfer.
The tablet does not support GPS positioning or NFC. Its radio support remains unspecified.
Features and Sensors
The TCL Tab A1 includes an accelerometer for motion detection. In addition, it provides a proximity sensor for compatible accessories.
Stylus support adds more functionality for users who want to take handwritten notes, draw, or work on creative projects.
Battery
The tablet packs a large 8000 mAh battery. Therefore, it can provide long-lasting power for browsing, streaming, studying, and other everyday activities.
Moreover, the device supports 20W wired charging, which helps recharge the large battery at a reasonable speed.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the TCL Tab A1 offers a balanced combination of a large 90Hz display, stylus support, expandable storage, stereo speakers, and a large battery.
