Design and Build
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ features a slim and premium aluminum design. It measures 289.5 × 187.8 × 5.3 mm and weighs around 553–555 grams.
Moreover, the tablet uses an Enhanced Armor Aluminum frame and back for added durability. It also carries an IP68 rating, so it can handle dust and immersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.
The tablet supports a Nano-SIM and eSIM on cellular models. In addition, stylus support makes it suitable for handwriting, drawing, note-taking, and productivity.
Display
The device features a large 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. As a result, users can enjoy smooth animations, scrolling, and gaming.
Furthermore, HDR10+ support delivers richer contrast and vibrant colors. The display reaches 1000 nits in high brightness mode and up to 1600 nits peak brightness. Its 1752 × 2800-pixel resolution provides sharp visuals with around 262 PPI density.
Performance and Software
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ runs Android 17 with One UI 9. Samsung also plans to provide up to seven major Android OS updates, which can extend the tablet’s software lifespan.
Under the hood, the tablet uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset built on a 3nm process. Its octa-core CPU and Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU provide strong performance for multitasking, gaming, creative work, and demanding applications.
The tablet comes with 12GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB internal storage. In addition, users can expand the storage through the dedicated microSDXC card slot.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ features a 13MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash, HDR, and panorama support. It can record 4K video at 30fps.
On the front, the tablet includes a 12MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view. Therefore, it works well for video calls, online meetings, and group conversations.
The front camera also supports 4K video recording at 30fps.
Sound and Connectivity
The tablet includes four stereo speakers that provide an immersive audio experience. However, it does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For wireless connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ supports Wi-Fi 6E, tri-band networking, and Bluetooth 6.0. In addition, it supports GPS, GLONASS, BDS, and GALILEO for positioning.
The tablet also features USB Type-C 3.2 and a magnetic connector. Furthermore, Wireless Samsung DeX provides a desktop-style experience for users who want to work with multiple applications.
Features and Sensors
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ includes an optical fingerprint sensor under the display. Moreover, it offers an accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, and compass.
These features improve security and provide useful support for navigation, motion detection, and compatible applications.
Battery
The tablet packs a large 10600 mAh Li-Po battery. Therefore, it can support extended sessions for streaming, browsing, gaming, and productivity.
It supports 45W wired charging and can reach 100% charge in around 95 minutes. As a result, users can spend less time waiting for the tablet to recharge.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S12+ combines a premium design, high-quality AMOLED display, powerful hardware, and long-term software support. In addition, S Pen compatibility and Wireless DeX make it useful for both creative work and productivity.
