The Motorola Edge 70 Plus is an upcoming premium smartphone that combines a bright AMOLED display, a high-resolution main camera, and a large battery. It also offers a durable design with modern performance for everyday use.
Motorola announced the Motorola Edge 70 Plus on September 3, 2026, and expects to release it in September 2026. Therefore, the phone currently remains in the “coming soon” category.
Design and Build
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus features a stylish design with a Gorilla Glass 7i front, eco-leather back, and plastic frame. It measures 162.7 × 75.7 × 8.5 mm and weighs 196 grams. As a result, the phone offers a good balance between size and portability.
Moreover, the device supports SIM functionality and includes IP64 protection against dust and water splashes. It also meets MIL-STD-810H standards, although this certification does not guarantee complete protection in extreme conditions.
Display
The smartphone features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Therefore, scrolling, animations, and gaming should feel more responsive.
It offers a 1272 × 2772 pixel resolution with around 450 PPI density. In addition, the display supports 1 billion colors and HDR10+. The screen can reach up to 5200 nits peak brightness, making it easier to view content in bright environments.
Corning Gorilla Glass 7i also protects the display from everyday scratches and impacts.
Performance and Software
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus runs on Android 16 and supports up to three major OS updates. It uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, which follows a 4nm manufacturing process.
Additionally, the octa-core CPU and Adreno 810 GPU provide balanced performance for apps, multitasking, and casual gaming. The phone comes with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM or 256GB storage and 8GB RAM.
However, the device does not include a microSD card slot, so users cannot expand the internal storage.
Camera
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus features a dual rear camera setup. It includes a 200MP main camera with dual-pixel PDAF and OIS. It also adds a 2MP macro camera for close-up photography.
Furthermore, the rear camera supports HDR, panorama, and LED flash. It can record 4K video at 30fps and 1080p video at up to 240fps. Gyro-EIS also helps improve video stability.
For selfies, the phone offers a 32MP front camera. In addition, it supports HDR, panorama, and 4K video recording at 30fps.
Sound and Connectivity
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus provides stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos for a more immersive audio experience. However, it does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Moreover, it includes GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO for navigation. NFC support also depends on the market or region.
The device uses a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support.
Features and Sensors
The smartphone includes an optical fingerprint sensor under the display. Additionally, it provides an accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, and compass.
Therefore, users get the essential sensors needed for security, navigation, and motion-based features.
Battery
The Motorola Edge 70 Plus packs a large 6500 mAh battery. As a result, it should provide long-lasting power for browsing, streaming, gaming, and everyday tasks.
It supports 45W wired charging for faster recharging. Furthermore, the phone offers 7.5W reverse wired charging and bypass charging for added convenience.
Final Thoughts
Overall, the Motorola Edge 70 Plus offers a strong combination of a bright 144Hz AMOLED display, 200MP main camera, capable Snapdragon chipset, and large 6500 mAh battery.
