The Honor Magic9 Pro Max is a rumored flagship smartphone designed to combine powerful performance, advanced cameras, and a large battery. It also brings a high-end LTPO OLED display, fast charging, and several premium connectivity features.

The device has not been officially announced yet, so its specifications remain subject to change.

Design and Build

The Honor Magic9 Pro Max is expected to feature a premium glass front and glass or aluminum back with an aluminum frame. It will support multiple SIM configurations, including Nano-SIM and eSIM options for international markets.

Moreover, the phone is expected to offer IP68/IP69K protection against dust and water. Therefore, it can handle high-pressure water jets and immersion up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

Display

The device is expected to feature a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with 1 billion colors and a 120Hz refresh rate. In addition, it supports Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and 4320Hz PWM dimming.

The 1320 × 2868 pixel resolution provides around 464 PPI density. As a result, the screen should deliver sharp details, smooth animations, and vibrant colors for gaming and media consumption.

Performance and Software

The Honor Magic9 Pro Max is expected to run Android 17 with MagicOS 11. Honor also plans up to seven major OS updates.

The phone will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset with an octa-core CPU and Adreno GPU. Therefore, it should provide high-end performance for gaming, multitasking, and demanding applications.

Storage options may include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. RAM configurations will range from 12GB to 16GB, while UFS 4.1 storage should provide fast data access.

Camera

The Honor Magic9 Pro Max is expected to feature a powerful triple-camera system. It includes a 200MP main camera with OIS and a large 1/1.28-inch sensor.

In addition, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera offers 3.7x optical zoom, OIS, and multi-directional PDAF. The 50MP ultrawide camera provides a 122-degree field of view and supports dual-pixel autofocus.

Furthermore, the camera system includes laser autofocus, a color spectrum sensor, HDR, and panorama features. It can also record 4K video at up to 120fps with OIS, gyro-EIS, HDR, and 10-bit video support.

For selfies, the phone includes a 50MP multi-aspect front camera. It also features a TOF 3D sensor for depth detection and biometric functions.

Sound and Connectivity

The phone features large-amplitude stereo speakers for an immersive audio experience. However, it does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack.

For connectivity, the Honor Magic9 Pro Max supports Wi-Fi 6/7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and an infrared port. It also supports GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS, QZSS, and NavIC for accurate positioning.

Additionally, the USB Type-C 3.2 port supports DisplayPort 1.2 and OTG. The China version may also offer satellite emergency SOS messaging and calls.

Features and Sensors

The Honor Magic9 Pro Max is expected to include an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor and Face ID. In addition, it features an accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, and compass.

The device may also support desktop mode, allowing users to connect the phone to a larger display for a more computer-like experience.

Battery

The smartphone is expected to pack a huge 8800 mAh Si/C Li-Ion battery. Therefore, it should provide extended battery life for gaming, streaming, browsing, and other demanding tasks.

It supports 100W wired charging, 100W PPS, and 40W UFCS. Moreover, it offers 80W wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, and 5W reverse wired charging.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Honor Magic9 Pro Max combines a high-resolution OLED display, powerful Snapdragon chipset, advanced 200MP cameras, and a large 8800 mAh battery.
