Design and Build
Blackview designed the Mega 12 as a large-format tablet with a premium feel. It measures 280.2 x 194.2 x 8.2 mm and weighs 690g, which suits productivity, entertainment, and multitasking use. The tablet supports dual Nano-SIM, making it useful for users who need constant connectivity.
Moreover, the display surface includes Mohs level 5 protection, which helps resist scratches during daily use. Although the device is not rugged-focused, its solid construction ensures durability for regular handling.
Display
The Blackview Mega 12 features a massive 12.2-inch IPS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Consequently, scrolling feels smooth, and animations appear fluid.
Additionally, the screen delivers a 2400 x 1600 pixel resolution with a 3:2 aspect ratio, which works perfectly for reading, document editing, and split-screen multitasking. With 350 nits typical brightness and an ~81.4% screen-to-body ratio, the tablet offers a comfortable viewing experience indoors.
Performance and Software
Blackview equips the Mega 12 with Android 16, layered with DokeOS_P 5.0, which focuses on productivity and customization. Therefore, users benefit from improved multitasking features and a clean interface.
The tablet runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset, paired with the Mali-G610 MC4 GPU. As a result, it handles multitasking, media consumption, and moderate gaming smoothly.
Memory and Storage
The Blackview Mega 12 comes in 256GB storage with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage with 16GB RAM variants. Furthermore, users can expand storage using a microSDXC card via the shared SIM slot, which adds flexibility for large files and media libraries.
Rear Camera
On the back, the Blackview Mega 12 features a 50MP single rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. It captures detailed photos for documents, casual photography, and scanning needs.
In addition, the camera supports HDR, panorama, and LED flash. For video recording, it offers 1440p at 30fps and 1080p at 30fps, which is more than sufficient for a tablet.
Front Camera
The front-facing 13MP wide camera delivers clear video calls and online meeting quality. Moreover, HDR support improves lighting balance. The camera records 1080p video at 30fps, making it suitable for remote work and online classes.
Audio and Connectivity
Blackview enhances the Mega 12 with quad stereo speakers, delivering loud and immersive audio for movies and games. However, the tablet does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Connectivity features include tri-band Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS (L1+L5) with global satellite support, NFC, FM radio, and USB Type-C with OTG, ensuring excellent wireless and wired options.
Sensors and Security
The tablet includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, which unlocks quickly and securely. Additionally, it features an accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, and compass, enhancing navigation and usability.
Battery and Charging
One of the strongest highlights of the Blackview Mega 12 is its massive 10000mAh battery. As a result, users can enjoy extended usage for work or entertainment without frequent charging.
Moreover, the tablet supports 55W fast wired charging, which significantly reduces downtime compared to standard tablets.
Color Options
Finally, Blackview offers the Mega 12 in Space Grey and Flash Gold, giving users a choice between a professional and a bold appearance.
