Moreover, the phone supports Nano-SIM and eSIM configurations, with up to two active SIMs at once. It also carries IP68/IP69 protection, so the device can resist dust, high-pressure water jets, and immersion in water up to 6 meters for 30 minutes.
Display
The device features a 6.75-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. As a result, users get smooth animations and responsive scrolling.
It offers a 1280 × 2832 pixel resolution with approximately 460 PPI density. Furthermore, the panel supports 1 billion colors, HDR Vivid, and 1440Hz PWM. Huawei also protects the display with Kunlun Glass 3.
Performance and Software
The Huawei Mate 90 runs on HarmonyOS 7.0 and uses the Kirin 9030 chipset. This hardware combination provides the processing power needed for everyday apps, multitasking, gaming, and other demanding tasks.
The phone comes with 12GB RAM and offers three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. However, it does not include a memory card slot, so users must choose their preferred storage capacity when buying the device.
Camera
The Huawei Mate 90 features a versatile triple rear camera system. It includes a 50MP main camera with variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture and OIS, a 50MP telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view.
In addition, the camera system includes laser autofocus, a color spectrum sensor, LED flash, HDR, and panorama support. It can also record 4K video with gyro-EIS, OIS, and HDR Vivid.
For selfies, the phone uses a 13MP ultrawide camera with autofocus. Moreover, it includes a TOF 3D sensor for depth and biometric functions. The front camera supports 4K video and HDR Vivid recording.
Sound and Connectivity
The Huawei Mate 90 delivers high-definition audio through its stereo speakers. However, Huawei does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack.
For wireless connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and Wi-Fi Direct. Furthermore, it supports GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, QZSS, and NavIC for positioning.
The device also includes NFC, an infrared port, and USB Type-C 3.1 with OTG and DisplayPort 1.2 support. Additionally, BDS satellite calling and messaging are available in China.
Features and Sensors
The phone includes Face ID and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for secure unlocking. In addition, users get an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, compass, barometer, and altimeter.
These sensors support navigation, biometric security, motion detection, and other smartphone functions.
Battery
The Huawei Mate 90 packs a 6600 mAh battery. Therefore, it can provide extended usage for browsing, streaming, photography, and everyday tasks.
It supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Moreover, the phone supports reverse wireless charging and 5W reverse wired charging, allowing users to share power with compatible devices.
