The Huawei Mate 90 Pro is a premium flagship smartphone that combines a high-end display, powerful hardware, advanced cameras, and a large battery. Huawei announced and released the device on October 1, 2026, making it available for users from launch day.

Design and Build

The Huawei Mate 90 Pro features a premium design with Kunlun Glass 3 on the front, an aluminum frame, and a glass-fiber reinforced plastic back. It measures 161.9 × 75.7 × 8 mm and weighs 222 grams.

Moreover, the phone supports Nano-SIM and eSIM configurations, with up to two active SIMs at a time. It also carries IP68/IP69 protection, so it can resist dust and handle high-pressure water exposure. Furthermore, Huawei offers the phone in White, Green, Black, and Orange.

Display

The device features a 6.75-inch dual-layer LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. As a result, users get smooth animations and responsive scrolling.

The screen provides a 1080 × 2832 pixel resolution with around 449 PPI density. In addition, it supports 1 billion colors, HDR Vivid, and 1440Hz PWM. Huawei also lists a peak brightness of 12,000 nits under a specific isolated video-playback measurement.

Performance and Software

The Huawei Mate 90 Pro runs on HarmonyOS 7.0 and uses the Kirin 9035 chipset. This hardware combination provides the processing power needed for everyday apps, multitasking, gaming, and demanding workloads.

The phone comes with several storage configurations. Users can choose from 256GB with 12GB RAM, 512GB with 12GB RAM, 512GB with 16GB RAM, or 1TB with 16GB RAM. However, the device does not include a memory card slot.

Camera

The Huawei Mate 90 Pro features a triple rear camera system. It combines a 50MP main camera with variable f/1.4-f/4.0 aperture and OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom, and a 40MP ultrawide camera.

Furthermore, the camera system includes laser autofocus, a color spectrum sensor, LED flash, HDR, and panorama modes. It supports 4K video recording along with gyro-EIS, OIS, and HDR Vivid.

For selfies, the phone uses a 13MP ultrawide front camera with autofocus. In addition, a TOF 3D sensor supports depth and biometric functions. The front camera can also record 4K video and 1080p video at up to 240fps.

The Huawei Mate 90 Pro delivers stereo sound through its built-in speakers. However, it does not include a 3.5mm headphone jack.

For wireless connectivity, the phone supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and multiple satellite positioning systems. Moreover, it includes NFC and an infrared port.

The USB Type-C 3.1 port supports OTG and DisplayPort 1.2. Additionally, Huawei lists BDS satellite calling and messaging for China only.

It supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. In addition, the phone supports 18W reverse wired charging and reverse wireless charging.
