The Realme 16x is a new smartphone that combines a large 144Hz display, capable everyday performance, strong durability, and a massive battery. It targets users who want smooth entertainment, reliable daily performance, and long battery life at an affordable price.

Realme announced and released the Realme 16x on August 12, 2026. Therefore, the device is already available.

Design and Build

The Realme 16x features a glass front with a plastic frame and plastic back. It measures 166.5 × 78.2 × 8.8 mm and weighs 217 grams. As a result, the phone offers a solid feel while maintaining a modern design.

Moreover, it supports dual Nano-SIM functionality. The device also carries IP65 protection against dust and low-pressure water jets. In addition, it meets MIL-STD-810H requirements and can handle drops from up to 1.8 meters, although Realme does not guarantee rugged performance in extreme conditions.

Furthermore, an RGB notification light on the rear adds a distinctive touch to the design. The phone comes in Endurance Brown and Glory White.

Display

The device features a large 6.81-inch IPS LCD with a 144Hz refresh rate. Therefore, scrolling, animations, and supported games feel smoother and more responsive.

It offers 975 nits typical brightness and up to 1200 nits in high brightness mode. Moreover, the 720 × 1570 resolution provides around 254 PPI density. Panda-1681 glass protects the display from everyday scratches and minor impacts.

Performance and Software

The Realme 16x runs Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0. Realme also promises up to two major Android OS updates, which helps extend the phone’s software lifespan.

The device uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset built on a 6nm process. Additionally, its octa-core CPU and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU provide reliable performance for everyday apps, browsing, streaming, and light gaming.

Users can choose from three memory configurations:

• 128GB storage with 4GB RAM
• 128GB storage with 6GB RAM
• 256GB storage with 6GB RAM

Furthermore, the phone supports microSDXC expansion through a shared SIM slot.

Camera

The Realme 16x features a 50MP main camera with autofocus. It also supports LED flash, HDR, and panorama modes.

As a result, users can capture detailed photos in suitable lighting conditions. The rear camera records 1080p video at up to 60fps.

For selfies, the phone includes an 8MP front camera with panorama support. In addition, it can record 1080p video at 30fps.

Sound and Connectivity

The smartphone includes a built-in loudspeaker. However, it does not feature a 3.5mm headphone jack.

In terms of connectivity, the Realme 16x supports dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.3. Moreover, Bluetooth includes aptX HD and LHDC 5.0 support for compatible audio devices.

The phone also supports GPS, GALILEO, GLONASS, QZSS, and BDS for navigation. However, it does not include NFC or FM radio.

The Realme 16x includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for convenient unlocking. In addition, it provides an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and compass.

Battery

One of the biggest highlights of the Realme 16x is its large 7000mAh Si/C Li-Ion battery. Therefore, the phone can provide extended battery life for browsing, streaming, gaming, and other daily activities.

It supports 45W wired charging, along with 45W PPS and 13.5W PD/QC charging options. Furthermore, 7W reverse wired charging lets users charge compatible accessories or other devices.

The phone also supports bypass charging, which can help during extended gaming sessions.
