Honor officially announced the Honor X9d on September 24, 2025. Shortly afterward, the brand released the device on October 09, 2025. As a result, the smartphone is now widely available in global markets.
Body
The Honor X9d combines durability with a slim profile. It measures 161.9 × 76.1 × 7.8 mm and weighs 193 grams, which makes it comfortable to hold despite its large display. The phone features a glass front, while the plastic frame and back help reduce overall weight.
Moreover, Honor equips the device with IP68 and IP69K ratings. Therefore, it can withstand dust, high-pressure water jets, and immersion up to 6 meters. In addition, the phone offers drop resistance up to 2.5 meters, which significantly improves real-world durability.
Display
Honor installs a premium 6.79-inch AMOLED display on the Honor X9d. The panel supports 1 billion colors, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and ultra-high 3840Hz PWM dimming. As a result, it delivers both fluid visuals and reduced eye strain.
The screen reaches 800 nits typically, 1800 nits in high brightness mode, and an impressive 6000 nits peak brightness. Furthermore, the 1200 × 2640 resolution ensures sharp visuals with a pixel density of around 427 ppi. Aluminosilicate glass protects the display from daily wear.
Platform
The Honor X9d runs on Android 15 with Magic OS 9 on top. Under the hood, it uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, built on an efficient 4 nm process. Consequently, the phone balances performance and power efficiency very well.
The octa-core CPU combines Cortex-A720s and Cortex-A520s cores for smooth multitasking. Meanwhile, the Adreno 810 GPU handles gaming and graphics-intensive tasks with stable performance.
Memory
Honor offers multiple storage options to suit different users. Buyers can choose between:
- 256GB with 8GB RAM
- 256GB with 12GB RAM
- 512GB with 12GB RAM
Although the phone does not support memory expansion, the generous internal storage easily covers everyday needs.
Main Camera
The Honor X9d features a capable dual-camera system. The 108 MP primary sensor includes OIS and PDAF, which helps capture sharp and stable photos in various lighting conditions. Alongside it, the 5 MP ultrawide camera allows users to fit more into each frame.
In addition, the camera system supports HDR and panorama modes. For video, the phone records up to 4K at 30fps and uses gyro-EIS for smoother footage.
Selfie Camera
On the front, the Honor X9d houses a 16 MP wide-angle selfie camera. It records 1080p video at 30fps, making it suitable for video calls, selfies, and social media content.
Sound
The device includes stereo speakers that deliver clear and balanced audio. However, Honor removes the 3.5mm headphone jack, so users need wireless or USB-C audio solutions.
Connectivity
The Honor X9d supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and advanced audio codecs such as aptX HD and aptX Adaptive. Additionally, it includes NFC for quick connectivity, accurate global positioning systems, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port with OTG support.
Sensors
For security and usability, the phone includes an under-display optical fingerprint scanner. It also features an accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, and proximity sensor, which together enhance daily functionality.
Battery
One of the biggest highlights of the Honor X9d is its massive 8300 mAh silicon-carbon battery. Thanks to this large capacity, the phone easily lasts more than a full day of heavy use. Moreover, it supports 66W wired fast charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging, adding extra convenience.
